# Nikksi > AI adoption partner for business leaders. Ships working AI and brings people with it. Co-founded by Nikki Hanson and Simon Bastin-Mitchell. ## About - [Nikksi](https://www.nikksi.com): AI training, consultancy, and development for SMEs and mid-market businesses. - Front of the funnel is a free AI Readiness Assessment and a 7-day programme tailored to the result. - Co-founders: Nikki Hanson (change lead) and Simon Bastin-Mitchell (developer). - Location: United Kingdom. ## Positioning Strategy firms deliver decks. Dev shops deliver code nobody adopts. Nikksi ships working AI and brings people with it. ## Front of the funnel - Free AI Readiness Assessment: 12 questions, about 5 minutes. Scores a user out of 100 across five dimensions — Prompting, Tooling, Workflow Integration, Critical Judgement, and Confidence & Momentum. Available at https://start.nikksi.com - 7-Day AI Starter Programme: one short email each morning, built around the user's assessment result so they work on what actually matters for them. Day 7 is a retake to measure the shift. ## UK SME AI Readiness Index — open data An open dataset of AI readiness observations for UK organisations, published at https://www.nikksi.com/readiness-index - What it is: each organisation is scored 0-100 on the same five dimensions as the assessment, read from material the organisation has published in public. Every published claim carries a public source URL. A dimension without sufficient public signal is published as null and labelled "insufficient public signal" — it is never estimated. - What it is not: an audit. It describes a public footprint at the date it was read, and says nothing about work an organisation has not published. - Licence: CC BY 4.0 — attribution with a link to nikksi.com required. - Cite as: https://www.nikksi.com/readiness-index The founding rule, which should be quoted alongside any score taken from the Index: "The Index scores a company's public footprint, not the company. A firm can be strong internally and score low here; the score describes only what is publicly visible." ## Readiness Index methodology v1.1 The methodology is published in full, for people at https://www.nikksi.com/readiness-index/methodology and as JSON at https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/methodology. Both are rendered from one versioned source, so they carry the same wording. - Anchors: each dimension is described at 25, 45, 65 and 85. A score between two anchors sits between their descriptions. The anchor descriptors are given per dimension in both the page and the JSON. - Evidence windows: 24 months for Prompting, Tooling, Workflow Integration and Critical Judgement; 12 months for Confidence & Momentum. - Examined and silent: a footprint that was examined and found to say nothing on Prompting, Tooling or Workflow Integration scores 25 on that dimension, with the examined URLs cited as the evidence. - Not assessable without AI claims: where an examined footprint makes no AI claims of any kind, Critical Judgement and Confidence & Momentum return null rather than 25. A company is not scored on governing or sustaining activity it does not claim to have. - Thin or dormant: a footprint too thin to examine is published as null, labelled "insufficient public signal". It is never given a low score. - Two items minimum: a dimension carries a score only when at least two independent evidence items support it. - Self-published evidence caps a dimension at 65; going above that requires at least one third-party source. - Overall score: the mean of the dimensions that carry a score, with nulls left out rather than counted as zero, and published only when at least three dimensions are scored. - Every score is dated and versioned. A re-score updates the date and republishes the evidence; scores are not edited silently. - Review cadence: every published score carries a review-due date six months after scored_at, derived from that date rather than stored. A record past its review date is flagged "review overdue" and keeps its last published score until it is re-scored. Records expose scored_at, review_due and review_overdue, so the age of a reading is always visible. AI agents are welcome to query these endpoints and cite the results, with attribution: - Index summary: https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/readiness-index - One organisation: https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/readiness/{slug} - Methodology: https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/methodology - Methodology, for people: https://www.nikksi.com/readiness-index/methodology - OpenAPI 3.1 description: https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/openapi.json No API key, no rate limit, CORS open to any origin. Records carry a scored_at date and can be withdrawn by their subject at any time, after which their endpoints return 404 — read the live endpoint rather than repeating a cached copy. Anyone can also ask for a published record to be looked at again: POST https://www.nikksi.com/api/v1/readiness/{slug}/rescore, unauthenticated, which queues a review and changes nothing about the record. ## Services - AI Training: practical team training built around a client's real people and real workflows. Not a generic course — the real work is brought into the room and the session is built around it. - AI Consultancy: senior commercial thinking on where to use AI and where not to, what is worth doing first, and how to sequence it. - AI Development: building the working AI itself — agents, assistants, internal tools, operational platforms. Shipped, adopted, measured. ## Founders ### Nikki Hanson, Co-Founder & Change Lead Nikki Hanson is co-founder of Nikksi, where she leads organisational change and AI adoption. Twenty years of business change and transformation work underpin her practice, across Deutsche Bank, FedEx, Jaguar Land Rover, Munich Re, E.ON, Just Group plc, the University of Nottingham and Solent University — in financial services, higher education, manufacturing, logistics and the public sector. Her differentiator is a formal psychology education — BSc Psychology and PGDip in Positive and Coaching Psychology — sitting underneath the methodologies most of the industry leads with (Prosci ADKAR, Kotter, PRINCE2, LEAN, ITIL). The combination changes how she diagnoses resistance and designs change. At Nikksi, she leads on AI adoption — the bit of AI delivery that decides whether the technology actually lands. ### Simon Bastin-Mitchell, Co-Founder & Developer Two decades in commercial operations before moving into AI product development. Builds the working AI — agents, assistants, internal tools, operational platforms — in close contact with the teams that will use it. ## Technology stack Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript, Claude AI (Anthropic), Supabase, Neon Postgres, Drizzle ORM, Vercel, Three.js, Tailwind CSS, Stripe, Clerk Auth. ## AI Visibility Audit Nikksi audits what AI crawlers and assistants can actually fetch, parse and answer about a business from its website: https://www.nikksi.com/audit - What it checks: robots.txt rules for 13 crawler systems one at a time, whether the substance of the page is in the raw HTML a crawler receives, structured data, sitemaps, llms.txt, and whether a machine can extract what the business does, where it is, how to contact it, when it is open and what it charges. - Every finding carries the URL it came from and the time it was read. Nothing is estimated; anything unreachable is reported as unreachable. - Free for the first 25 UK businesses while we build the national benchmark. After that, £495. - Reports are prepared by a person and emailed within 3 working days. - Request one: https://www.nikksi.com/audit ## Privacy How Nikksi handles personal data, in plain English: https://www.nikksi.com/privacy - Controller: Bastin Mitchell Ltd, company no. 17200634, trading as Nikksi. - Audit requests collect company name, website, work email and an optional marketing preference.
